Origin / Etymology

From Ancient Greek πεντάγραμμον (pentágrammon), noun form of the adjectives πεντάγραμμος (pentágrammos) and πεντέγραμμος (pentégrammos, “five-lined, having five lines”). Equivalent to penta- + -gram.
